No Sound Card problem

Hey guys ..

a while ago I had an issue with some sound issues on my pc coming from MP3s and videos so i did a driver update and it was working fine . I just recently noticed that my MSN dosent make any sounds . I tried voice chat and it had an error msg .. no sound card selected ..
Im not sure what could be done to solve this
I have tried numerous searches n nth comes up

Uninstall your existing driver, reboot and download the latest driver from your sound card’s website. Install it and then test WLM.
