Hi. I’m currently using yahoo messenger version 7.I dont seem to get audible sounds. I know yahoo runs on .dll files and I recently recovered from a trojan removal. From an instruction from a professional i deleted all the trojan files successfully and i saw that there were a lot of .dll files involved in the deletion. Can that be the cause of it? Well I dont know and I would really appreciate any replies to this. Yeah btw my messenger was working fine before i got the infection and I already double checked all the preferences and settings in the messenger but still the same result. Thanks in advance for replies.
Maybe a complete new install of yahoo messenger might help. Have you tried any of the newer versions of YM yet (7.5 or 8)? Also make sure you have the latest macromedia flash player installed.
I suggest removing the current messenger fully and upgrading to the latest 8.1.0.239 build or reinstall your current build.
You can have a program delete it for you like Yremove
Then after that is installed you can update to latest flash player on the site below.
