No voice

I have not been able to use voice in messenger 6.1 for over a month. I have uninstalled drivers and reinstalled them, have changed the rtcdll.dll to rtcdll.dll 5.1.2600.28 in the system 32 folder. Have reinstalled MSN several times,,, all to no avail. I am completely frustrated with MSN messenger,I have a Dell 8200, Santa Cruz sound card and Windows XP home edition. Any help would be appreciated as I am about to give this program up and delete it from my computer. I am able to use Yahoo,both voice and video as well as Skype which works satisfactorally but voice quality is not as good as MSN as I remember.Thank you all for taking time to read this, and again, any help would be most appreciated.

HI all,
I cant seem to get voice to work on my MSN either! I have the latest version installed. It used to work on my pc but no more. I think it maybe because of a firewall problem but it used to work before, and I haven’t changed my settings, neither has my buddy.
Please can someone help

Just wondering ganda 1f if you have solved your problem with messenger and if so , how did you do it? I would hate to format my computer for one program.
