The rooms are not gone, just hidden. If you have the room on your favourites list, you can simply click it to join. Chances are you’ll be the only one there though unless your friends who also used the room have it also. Another way is to simply make the room as usual and let your friends know by putting the room name as your status message, and then they can follow you to the room.
If you use Yahelite, you can see the available user created rooms by clicking F5, then click ‘get the list of Yahoo rooms’, then down the bottom of the first column click *special*, then enter 0, then hit ‘enter’. All available user rooms will be loaded in order of how many are in the room at the time. They are not in category order.

What good is this if most people cannot “see” these user rooms?
And MIGs where is this site that has that info?
Hmmn, i dunno if its still caused by the yahoo patching, but if you will take a look at the Regional Category, User rooms in Vietnam is appearing..actually most of the rooms that were listed there are from my country.. :p Yeah some user rooms are already appearing in other countries but unlike in Vietnam.. there are a lot of rooms!
If you wish your room to appear in the user list, create it in Vietnam. 😀

I have noticed in the couple of days that a few user rooms are starting to show up, but when you try to access them they say they are private and cannot be entered without an invite. I also have heard a rumour that the rooms will be back by Friday but I stress its a RUMOR, I cannot find anything to back it up. I did find yet another article regarding this situation and by reading it I wonder just what we will have to go through to use the user rooms once we do get them back… heres the link if anyone is interested……..http://www.click2houston.com/news/4549393/detail.html
Yahoo! User rooms are now totally removed from user access.
You cannot make them or join them.
i believe group chat rooms are also removed.
/join command no longer works and no users rooms are available as of this post.

I’ve just read this article which says Yahoo! has reacted to protests from several of its top sponsors and has pulled the plug on hundreds of chat rooms after a media report revealed some of the chat rooms were used to promote sex with miniors. Some companies has stopped advertising on Yahoo! when they were informed that adults were attempting to lure children into sexual encounters within some user-created chat rooms of Yahoo! Chat Service, according to a report by KPRC-TV in Houston. KPRC has reported in some cases male users of Yahoo! Chat were using web cam to send lewd pictures to miniors in chatrooms with titles such as Younger Girls 4 Older Guys” and “Girls 13 And Under for Older Guys.” It’s finally about time Yahoo! did something, and I’ve read Yahoo has until next month to respond to the federal lawsuit filed by a victim of child pornography. The lawsuit accuses Yahoo of profiting from the exploitation of children in the chat rooms.

Recently, members of the chatroom where i frequently visit that has also a yahoo group registered in yahoo, were able to create a room using the “Chat” in the Yahoo groups site.
*g.name of the group:1 <– this will be the name of the chatroom.
After the room was created anyone can join using the invite, or follow user options. 🙂
The problem i see with yahoo using filters on the names of the user rooms is this……Kids are alot smarter these days, schools are now teaching them computer programming,and it wouldn’t be too hard for them to figure out the filters.The other problem I see is …. How is Yahoo! gonna stop these kids from making adult profiles so they can access these rooms? Will we end up having to prove our age by CC now ? I was in adult chat over the weekend and from Friday evening till Sunday evening I saw at least a dozen kids under the age of 16 going into the adult rooms and asking to get on cams. One young man who’s profile said 18 but was really only 15 begged to get on my cam, and was extremely pissed off because I wouldn’t allow it. I hate the thought of reporting these kids to Yahoo! but on the other hand I need to protect myself as well. And where the hell are the parents when these kids are surfing adult chat rooms? I’m afraid its gonna be quite awhile (if ever) before we get the user rooms back.I don’t see any easy solution here. They could moderate all the chatrooms, the chatrooms for kids used to be (not sure if they still are), but then you have to deal with moderators kicking people out just because they don’t like them not necessarily because they’ve done something wrong.Just my opinions, I have a feeling the worst is yet to come.
There is really not a whole lot you can do about it once the parents become ignorant towards the subject. Think about it…yes, kids do make profiles that say they are 18 but aren’t…then go into adult chatrooms, ect. Well, kids also visit porno sites that have a gateway page that clearly states you must be over 18…they just simply click yes I am 18 and enter. The internet is still very new and its going to be a long time until a full force government system comes in for the net. Until then, we’ll just have to accept it :confused:
