MemberI thought I heard somewhere that Odigo no longer has interoperability with the Big 4 IMs. Can anyone confirm/deny this ?
BBB says it still does… but can we trust a big blue ball ? 😉
A quick scan around the Odigo website doesn’t seem to show any mention… and indeed the link for “MSN compatibility” on THIS (BBB) page leads to basically THIS: Odigo Plug-ins are waiting for an upgrade to 3.6.So – does anyone know ?

KeymasterSeems like Odigo is not keeping up with other messengers out there.

KeymasterOdigo has fallen off the radar. They are not competitive any more. They used to offer connectivity to AIM, ICQ, Yahoo and even MSN, but now only support their own private IM network.
Odigo does have some interesting features for searching for people by interest, age, language, location, etc., but in every other area they have fallen behind.
It’s sad, too, because they had a nice little program. It was skinnable, and at one time had a really neat feature for finding other Odigo users who were visiting the same website you were on. That’s gone now, too.
On their website, it says:
Quote:From 1/1/2005 Odigo will no longer be interoperable with other IM accounts. It seems that when they were purchased by Comverse, all development just ended, and in fact, many features began disappearing. Too bad.
Oddly, Odigo still works. I signed on today with my old ID and there are still people using it! Apparently, it still has a following, though I suspect it is a shrinking community of users.

MemberThanks for the responses, you two 🙂
I guess really my main point was the “BBB” link there, which is woefully out of date, and should perhaps be amended sometime (OR deleted!?).
If it’s worth having info displayed, it’s worth having it RIGHT 😉

MemberWell I tried to register on their site, but the page seems down(the one for registering). I tried emailing them, and it seems that is down as well. Is odigo going down for good or what?

Is odigo going down for good or what?I’m pretty sure it’s down for good. Like many other alternatatives I have seen, once they stop doing stuff to it for a while, and the fact that their email and registering parts of their site are down, I’d say they are gone. It’s a shame really, this was a decent program…my first interoperable IM in fact.
