Has anyone had success with the “NetDetect” feature? Supposedly, Odigo can remain quietly in your taskbar until an internet connection is detected, and WHAMMO…you’re on with all your buddies!
I must say, it DOES do that, but after several connects and disconnects, without starting my computer, I find all of a sudden, my browsing experience comes to a H-A-L-T.
I’ll just be going from one lame web page to another, then out of the blue, one page will time out. Then opening any other web browser (Netscape, Internet Explorer, NeoPlanet, Opera), all time out before loading anything.
Closing Odigo, and I’m back in business. The only way to use both is to restart the PC. I’ve uninstalled/reinstalled, checked browser preferences and Odigo Options, have the most current version(s), etc.
I hated NetDetect and turned it off (thankfully they make it easy to do so). I like to have control over when I’m connected and available for chat.
I have similar problems with their Homepage feature. It’s a cool concept (get notified when other Odigo users visit your homepage), but when I run it, I sometimes have problems.
Does Odigo run ok for you when you’re not using NetDetect?

More or less, but since it doesn’t support Yahoo right now, I have since switched to Easy Message. Sure, it doesn’t have too many (any) advanced features, but it takes up such an insignificant amount of resources and easily interacts with all IM’s, I’m happy with it for now.
