I’ve seen lots of posts on how to be “offline” in Yahoo. I’m having the opposite problem. 🙂 I’ve tried everything I can think of and no matter what I do, I appear offline when I’m online. I actually WANT to be online. I’ve made sure I’m set to visible and available, I’ve made sure that my “Allow yahoo sites to show…” is set properly. No luck. I’ve emailed yahoo support a number of times but the auto-responder is the closest thing to a person I’ve gotten so far. Any thoughts? Thanks!
Additional Info: Tried my hubby’s account (without changing any other settings) to see if it’s a problem with my system, etc. and it recognized his account with no problem. Therefore I can only assume that it’s a problem specifically with something in my yahoo account itself. Not that that will shed any further light on the problem, but at least it’s not some stupid screw-up on my part. 😉
Have you tried logging in from another PC to see if the problem is locally based?
Each settings are saved seperate for each id so usuaing your hubbies would be not much help.
You could do a full uninstall/wipe of messenger and reboot and reinstall to see if that would help.
This Program will remove yahoo by force off your pc if you need to as yahoo’s uninstalller does not remove anything it doesnt install initially.
Note:It will also delete all your archives
Mkay. I took the yahoo support’s ever helpful suggestion of “delete it and reinstall” which, of course, did nothing. I tried the yremover. Nada. Installed on my husband’s computer. Ditto there. I hope yahoo will at least investigate the option of it being something in my account they can fix. I don’t want to have to create a new account just to get the stupid thing to work… 🙁
