I am wondering if anyone is having this problem, My offline message do not show up until after I am signed on for a while or I am not getting them at all. I have been setting my connection to no proxies thinking that maybe it was because I had it set to firewall. This has been happening for the past several days. Is this just another yahoo problem or is there something wrong with my messenger?

welcome to bigblueball
Pm’s or offline messages wont work too well behind firewall settings on Yahoo! messenger.
Since this forces your Messenger to do most things via Port 80, it’s not very reliable.
Using No Proxies uses the most common settings and you will and should get your offlines and pm’s a lot quicker.

Ever since I started using Messenger 7.0 (YMSG 13) to the current version 8.1 (YMSG 15) this has still been a problem. Interestingly enough I never had these problems when I was using YMSG 12 or lower, I always got them when using YMSG 10, 11 or 12. This goes for offline PMs and add buddies. I’ve also strangely observed that I can PM myself on one name, sign in and receive the offlines and when performing the same identical test, at the same time, on another name I won’t get them. I’m not sure of the reasoning or why Yahoo! selectively delivers them like this but it’s something that I’ve written off as just another Yahoo! server issue. Offline delivery isn’t as reliable as it used to be (pre-7.0), at least not for me for whatever reason.

Apparently, if you turn on your archives, you will either see the offlines there, or it will start showing up.
Not sure why or how come, but this is the fix that I’ve been seeing on various forums.
Try it and let us know.

I have noticed the same with WLM 8.0 and 8.1
I went back to 8.0 and got a dozen offlines popping in my face i got 2 weeks before on 8.1 beta.
just an example on how it can differ.
