Hello. First, let me say what a wonderful site BBB is. So much help and advice! I have a specific question relating to deleted contacts on MSN Live 8.1. An old contact has deleted me from their list (checked by going to “Privacy” and then “View” – their email addy isn’t there anymore); but I didn’t delete them from my contacts. My question is this: Because I still have that person on my list, can I see when they go online, even though they have deleted me? Just curious. Thanks.

If this contact has also blocked you, then there’s not a chance that you’ll see him/her as online in your list.
However, if you are not blocked, then you can still see this person signing on normally =)Thank you, princeG. I don’t understand; however, how a contact can be deleted and then blocked. I assumed it was one or the other – keep them on your list, but simply block them – or deleting them entirely. It doesn’t matter though. This person was going through a rough patch in life last spring and just before Xmas, while looking to see who had added me to their list(s), I noticed this person’s addy was gone. I’m just hoping they are ok is all. 🙂 Thanks for your help.
My question is along the line as Stinkyfeet’s. But I have’nt blocked this person.
I took a person off IM[windows Live]but want to keep him as a mail contact so I don’t want to block him. I took him off,yet he still see’s me and has IM’d me 3 times. I show “so & so is not on your contact list.Would you lke to add him?” when he comes on IM.

If you don’t want this person to see you when you’re online, you should block him. You can still email to him using any email program.
Also in WLM’s Tools>Options>Privacy, make sure that “Only people on my Allow list can see my status and send me messages” has a check mark.
