Orbiter is a free flight simulator that goes beyond the confines of Earth’s atmosphere. For examble, you can launch a Space Shuttle from the Kennedy Space Center to deploy a satellite in space, rendezvous with the International Space Station or take the futuristic Delta-glider for a tour through the solar system! Orbiter is not a space shooter. This simulator is based on realism.
Right now I am learning the basics of space flight at the NASA-site http://www2.jpl.nasa.gov/basics/ .
I think this flight simulator is intresting for the people who love space. 😀

By the way… if you’re just interested in exploring earth from your home computer, try NASA WorldWind. It lets you zoom in anywhere on earth and see high-resolution 3D images of landscapes and towns (but the resolution depends on exactly where you want to look at).
