I just recently tried using a status indicator from onlinestatus.org and it did not work.
The image always showes me as offline, when I am online. I tried opening ports on my firewall, letting the domain have access, and even put my machine in the DMZ, so the firewall doesn’t interfere.
Anyone have any suggestions?

As far as I know, OSI’s cache the status of you being online/offline for a few minutes. So, log online, wait a little bit (5 to 10 minutes), and then refresh your OSI. Also, if that doesn’t work, try to use another OSI host and see if that works.
One last thing: check to make sure your IM clients are set up to allow web presence to be seen. I know Yahoo and ICQ have these features, and MSN you must allow everyone to access you for your status to be seen through OSI. Check these out… more information about that is in the FAQ i think…~Kyle
February 3, 2004 at 2:51 pm #50419FimusMemberThanks for the reply. I did log online then wait, but it wouldn’t work. And also it is set so that everyone can see my web presence… Heh, now the OSI shows a missing image… (my sig) I’ll try a new host when I get home, I’m at school right now on my free period.

It also appears the the host you’ve chosen is down, try another more stable site from this list

I liked that host’s images, so I picked it…February 5, 2004 at 2:34 am #50417FimusMemberI chose a different host, and it still doesn’t work. The image shows though… but my status is offline when I am online. Any ideas?
