It’s basically the bare bones aim addon… it’s an addon that does nothing basically, you have to add all the functionality in yourself
February 6, 2004 at 12:53 am #50333colinMemberI know this doesnt exactly add to the forum, but i have to say this.
Why is everyone making a big deal about this program? It doesnt matter if its released soon or not, or if it even exsists(which i think it does by the way). Its a freaking program for AIM! Its not a big deal! go out and play some basketball or something, arguing about Otsego isnt going to help.February 6, 2004 at 2:17 am #50334henraMemberQuote:quote:Originally posted by FIXERlmao, if you didnt notice otsego works as a proxy between the aim client and the aim server, it doesnt use windows api to update the profile. Im going to release a new profileamp which is based off of otsego, also the current profileamp is a proxy, so i dont see how its even like that kids program
FIXER: I don’t understand. I do know that ProfileAMP acts between the cleint and the server, but are you planning on changing that? Because it would be nice if you did. And if you aren’t, that’s cool too.

Furthermore, proof that fixer can write AIM addons:
http://www.team-fx.com/otsego/So why would it be fake?
wow he can write a c program to make a dll file that loads his website. it has nothing to do with aim so far. this would be something you would learn how to do in a basic windows c programming class in college. also just so fixer knows he should rewrite it to open it in the defualt browser. not everyone uses IE.
February 6, 2004 at 3:58 am #50318goodoldlofgrenMemberWell if otsego really existed y dosent he release one of those alpha versions him and Morpia are using?? Cuz they dont have one haha HOAX dont waste your time I wanted otsego a while ago but i have changed my mind its bullcrap
February 6, 2004 at 4:00 am #50336LK-47MemberActually he’s already stated why he’s not going to release the alpha version…There are too many bugs in it and he’s aware of them..He doesn’t wanted to get flooded with IM’s with problems he already knows about.
February 6, 2004 at 4:02 am #50317goodoldlofgrenMemberHe and Morphia are using them they work for them
February 6, 2004 at 4:38 am #50321BrandonTurnerMemberQuote:quote:Originally posted by goodoldlofgrenHe and Morphia are using them they work for them
how do you know… what are you basing this on?
February 6, 2004 at 4:41 am #50316goodoldlofgrenMemberI read it in a post of fixers it said that Morphia is usin Alpah 1 or 2 and he didnt say what he was using
February 6, 2004 at 4:56 am #50335LK-47MemberIt works for them but Morphia uses the Alpha version and there are bugs in it…FIXER is continuosly updating his version to add new features and fix whatever bugs there were in the Alpha version.
February 6, 2004 at 5:01 am #50328panickedthumbMemberWith all the things he’s already written for aim, and the fact that he knows how to write an odl… then why wouldn’t he be able to compile that together to make an addon?
February 6, 2004 at 5:02 am #50339AlinaParticipantWhy doesnt everyone just trust him for a while, yes we have had a few misfortunes. but lets just wait. sooner or later the truth will come out and we will find out for now lets just go by what we hear.
February 6, 2004 at 5:11 am #50311detn8rParticipantYou know what I find ABSOLUTLY hilarious? The point that this anticipated project keep’s getting put on hold for sadly enough several, and too many for that matter reasons. Me, myself are far from an AIM fan, or for that matter an AOL fan of anything. Of course when I read the several hundred posts about this project I was going to download it, and give it my opinion. Time, and time again, the author gave his fans, and hopeful future users nothing in return but annoyance. And all the staff here can vouch for that, as they have put several hours at a time having to moderate the forums, and chat room over the issues. Personally, not that it matters, have no faith in this anticipated project. The author choose not to release it on several occasions due to the fact that more people choose to bash it, than bow down to his feet, and thank him as many due with Patchou (Now, don’t get me wrong, I have not quoted that in anyway, and these are just my opinions).
The night he (FIXER) chooses to release the project was not followed by the promise for which ever reason he may want to give. As I’m sure many of you can remember, some members posted that his status away message told you that he had until 12:00AM Pacific Time to release it to end his promise. Now, for that fact, he DID have to have his computer plugged into a resource to the internet. The excuse we got was that he dropped his computer, upon transferring it to his basement. Time and time again, it was excuse, after excuse. I am in no way form saying the supposed author has the capabilities on creating this project, but he an incredible way of showing it. Yes, he did in fact give his time to take part in an IRC conversation with MANY people, but we had nothing more than his word. As it stands, I solely believe that this project was in fact a popularity scam, or just a hoax played on several thousand people. Now if in fact I am correct, it would be out of decent respect of the anticipated author to step forward, and confess. This absolute kayos has gone on long enough.
Now, if I am wrong, and I hope I am, the anticipated author will get his act together, and release this as soon as possible. This, like I said is my personal view on the situation, and you may have different views, as you probably will. I have not posted this for an argument in anyway between FIXER or his fans, or future users., or even me. FIXER, if and when you read this, please do us the right thing, and get the show on the road, or pack in the garbage.

Personally, I think you’re the first person to have a negative viewpoint on this topic who has calmly stated it and made some decent point with it. Although I don’t agree with your point, THANK YOU for not just bashing Otsego, FIXER, Team FX, and everyone involved. You showed general respect to the forum readers and the developers, and although many may disagree with you, I do appreciate, as I’m sure others will as well, your cool-headed take on it. You’re the first person to make this point without being a butt about it.I still think and hope it’s real, and I anticipate its release, but seriously, thanks for not just going off the deep end and bashing it.
Another thought: I’d like to see a new poll called “Do you think Otsego is real?” *LOL*
