I’ll be in Houston at the Menninger Clinic for a few weeks, but I might hop in here and bitch about not being able to play ET, hehe. I’m not sure how long I’ll be there, but most definitely 4 weeks minimum. I’m just going in for an anxiety & depression treatment program. Menninger is one of, if not the best treatment facilities of its kind in the country, and I’m lucky that my dad can afford it since this is now the “last resort”. If you don’t know, I’m 20 and will be 21 in January, and luckily there are 14 others in the 18-24 range there at this time, and it might go up or down by a few…I’m SO glad I’ll be around others my age 😀
One of my only two direct questions was “what’s the internet access like?” and was told that I can’t bring a laptop, and that the patient access is limited because porn sites had been visited on the computers in the past…kids younger than 18 also attend, so it was a HUGE issue and they’re strict on access now. I’m addicted as part of my personal “therapy”, heh, so I’m hoping my therapist can pull a few strings and get me some wireless access, because I’m taking my laptop anyways. They don’t want us secluding ourselves on the computer (an obvious problem for me as it is), but music is allowed, such as an ipod…I have an ipod but getting the music easily accessible on there is a royal pain-in-the-ass for non-albums, so I’m going to try and work out some type of thing where I only get the laptop at night and mornings or something. My ipod has rarely been used because I can’t access my music exactly as I can on the computer (as far as I know), so it just sits there as another means of backup for my music collection.
So yeah, if I don’t get on here except once in the next month or something, then that’s why…I’m not pulling a disappearing act like though 😉 *insert arnold’s terminator quote here* ! It’s gonna kill me not being able to whore myself on forums, read nerd-news for a couple hours each day, check email accounts 30 times a day, and play ET…this is gonna be damn rough having only a handful of hours access each week, if that! Oh man, not being able to browse the AIM forums here is going to be a huge thorn in my ass because it bothers me knowing there are questions needing answers when I’m out for just a few days, but this will be weeks!!! :/ I’ll have to learn to live without 6+ hours of computer time each day, for the first time in my whole life…oh well.
If a few people mention “i dont know why jon8rfc hasnt thrown out his 2cents for the 10th time, you can post the first paragraph to them, because I don’t mind…I just don’t want to blurt it out like I originally was going to in my sig. So yeah, I won’t be offended or upset if people know, but only if they ask please 😉 I’ve posted this in a few other private forums, but none as big as this, so I added this paragraph specifically because I’m worried about the AIM forums :/

i certainly hope all ends up well for you. seeking therapy is never an easy thing to do, but it’s a good step in the right direction. best of wishes.
as for the forums, we’ll share only as much as is needed. if someone really decides they want to know details, well it’s not any of their business, really… but we’ll manage that as it happens. just take care of yourself and come out in one piece!

We will still all be here when you get home (bet that makes you feel better haha). Seriously though hun, you take good care of yourself, concentrate on ‘you’ and getting yourself well again.
