Hi guys,
I want to find an XML parser or something that can process an MSN history file and reformat it so it appears as it did in the chat window when the conversation originally took place.
i.e. instead of how they appear when viewed in a browser (Date/Time/From/To/Message) it just takes the ‘From’ and ‘Message’ fields and orders them like this:
From says:
MessageFrom says:
MessageFrom says:
Message
So that I can then paste them into Word and print out the conversation.
I’ve searched all over the web hoping someone has written a small utility that handles this (since it seems like the kind of thing someone would have had need for at some point) but haven’t been able to turn anything up.
Thanks.
Hi dvc, I don’t have much knowledge on this particular subject but maybe having a look at this older thread would help.
I have not tried in awhile but http://users.pandora.be/mouseman/html/logviewer.html is good.
If you install MSN Messenger Plus, you will find it allows you to log all conversations and it saves them as text files. Very good for seeing conversations in an easier format than the normal XLM file of history.
