While using Internet Explorer this bug appears in site news section. I’d refresh several times my but it wouldn’t work add remains there.
The problem is only with Internet Explorer.October 4, 2005 at 3:31 pm #131313SpikeMemberYour screen resolution is way too small. Try increasing to 1024×768, that should fix the problem.
October 4, 2005 at 6:28 pm #131311shifterMemberErk! His resolution may be among the minority these days, but 800×600 is still used by at least 25-30% of web users (source). That’s alot of users to try and convince to change resolution just to see our news!
I’m sure we could come up with a fix for displaying the news page at this resolution. Obviously a smaller ad would be the easiest fix, but I’m sure there are other solutions.
EDIT:
Also, I notice that after 14 days, I cannot see any past news. It does say to change the controls below to view past news, but there are no controls! Jeff, perhaps we should default the news forums to always display all news from the beginning. (example: https://bigblueball.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=184 )October 4, 2005 at 7:34 pm #131310Jeff HesterKeymasterI’m going to add a conditional statement that detects the screen resolution and renders the page properly.
As for the default, all of the news categories current are defaulted to show ALL stories. It’s been that way for a long time. I see them all. Shifter, if you don’t see them all, it may indicate another problem. I’ll have to look into it.
October 4, 2005 at 8:18 pm #131312shifterMemberIt seems my options were set to two weeks display instead of the Default forum settings. I changed it to default and I can see all news items now.

Anyhow thanks for the help I had changed the resolution and it’s fine now.
But 25-30% minority is a large number, Jeff better add the conditional statement that detects the screen resolution and renders the page properly. 🙂 -
