I’m thinking of overclocking my processor. It’s kinda slow. But I heard that it could mess up the computer. Does anyone know about any other ‘side effects’ that I should know about? Thanks.
The processor gets hotter and it’s time to live decreases. If it gets too hot it will damage itself and/or the computer.
How much mhz do you have? I’ve seen many cases of people who have a 2ghz system and say “my computer is slow”, just because they have much programs installed and Windows can’t handle that. Often, a reinstall of Windows will speed up your computer a lot.
Ok, thanks. My system has a 2.6 Ghz I think. I also read that mass constructed computers like Dell, Gateway, HP, etc. can’t be overclocked because of the motherboard. It says that they would have to get a new motherboard. So I guess I’m out of luck anyways….
