I am a pack rat. Well, I was clearing some old junk out of my room, and found 3 year old school papers, clothes I wore years ago (that don’t fit me), and tons and tons of boxes that I kept from gifts/mail I have gotten years ago. ( Not to mention all of the cards). I had enough junk by the end of my cleaning to half-fill a closet… Completely…
So, are you a pack rat?
Yes, somewhat. There is a ton of stuff that I know I will never use or need, yet I just can’t seem to part with. I also have school work from years ago. Furthermore, I seem to have a lot of collections (knives, keys, keychains, baseball cards, books, car models, etc) , and they take up so much room. In fact, I just bought a dagger to add to my knife collection. I have absolutely no use for it, but I just got it because I “needed” it.
i know i do have a lot of stuff laying around here that i probably dont need, but some of it just can’t be thrown away. old awards, my LEGOs that i havent touched for at least a year and some, etc. my other problem is that i tend to pick things up just in case i could use them… “i could probably use that for something… i dont know what, but something!” which is why i now have 400 feet of rope sitting on the floor behind me – it was scrap from work, perfectly good condition, and i figured it could be useful for who knows what.
actually that one turns out ok, we might have a tire swing (at the house at school…) which would be interestingI have crap lying around everywhere, I’m just too lazy to clean it out. It will probably get cleaned out next summer, whenever I’m ready to flock the nest and go out on my own.
I have crap everwhere in my room for the same reasons as everyone else. It could come in handy one day.
I have about 25 metres of rope and a few winches and things that i picked up from the side of the road, about 15 posters that I havnt put up on my wall because there is absoutly zero room, boxes of time, surfing and rolling stone magazines, etc.
I’ll tell you one think though, it will never come in handy. My grandma was a firm belive in holding onto things. It never resulted in anything but it taking me and my dad and brothers about 2 months longer in cleaning her house out when she moved. She had like papers from 1939 and stuff. It’s just crap.
No I’m not a pack rat absoulotly not… because my mother take care of the room and she clean all the junk out, mostly necessary things also go out of the room with junk by her cleaning.
Oh boy I am far from a pack rat hehe. I clear everything out all the time! If you sit in my lounge to long you will find me carrying you out to the bins lol. I hate clutter, of any kind. I do keep little keepsakes, for instance I have the first outfits my children wore when they were born but other than that I do not keep things for reasons like ‘oh this might come in handy’. However, this is kind of funny, I keep emails going back years sometimes, not all of them but special ones to me!! So I am computer pack rat! haha :0)
I’m a pack rat, but I’m a ver neat pack rat. I keep random things that I know I’ll “need someday” but I’m very organized as to how I stash them. All my candle scraps are stored in bags with their scent and color labled on them, and put in their own box. My random school papers are in designated folders in another filing system. Every season, I reorganize my closet and put my summer stuff away in my dresser drawers for storage and my winter stuff up in my closet, and usually my dress up clothes have their own section in my closet.
Ohh yes I’m a pack rat, but an organized one at that. *wink*
But I’m also a computer pack rat. My graphics folder is insane, but everything is organized into catagories. *snickers* Ahh…yes…I get it from my mother. *wink*
