I was wondering if anyone know anything about Parent/Child spyware. The only way to describe is like this. There are different types of Spyware/Adware, but one that I have never been able to get out of my system using numerous types of spyware killing programs. This type of spyware sits in your computer and doesn’t do a thing until you sign on and surf the net, then the SAME pop-ups show themselves. How I found out I had this type of spyware is I installed ZAP firewall, which asks you what programs you would let access the internet, well I kept getting a request from a program called “7x2moad” If I deny it access, I don’t get the pop-ups, but when I let it through I get pop-ups. Does anyone know how to get rid of this type of adware/spyware? Thanks

December 14, 2004 at 6:50 am #108742RabidKittenParticipantThat would be the first question…it’s almost an auto response from anyone here by now *chuckles*
December 14, 2004 at 6:56 am #108748RuseOfMetacarpiMember*rolls eyes* What part of “numerous spyware killing programs” don’t you understand 😉 Yes, I have the usual aray of programs, If I couldn’t get rid of it through those, I wouldn’t be asking on this post. Thanks

December 14, 2004 at 6:59 am #108743RabidKittenParticipantAre you using *crosses her fingers* IE as your browser? Just for my own curiosity more than anything else really.
December 14, 2004 at 7:07 am #108749RuseOfMetacarpiMemberUgh, The answer is yes, I am using IE. “But granny, I’m just a timid n00b who knows nothing of browser progs” Somehow I get the impression my answer should have been “Mozilla” or some other hyfalootin browser. *shakes fist in the air* you younguns and yer progs. (actually I’m 18)
December 14, 2004 at 7:09 am #108744RabidKittenParticipant*laughs a little* I’m just a little disinclined towards IE. IE is a disease *cackles* of course so is windows and AIM, but ah well, heheh. And who’re you calling granny! I’m only 2 years older than you. *snorts, puts her nose in the air* …20 isn’t that old…
December 14, 2004 at 7:20 am #108750RuseOfMetacarpiMemberIt must be that old looking text that strikes me as “granny”. *shrugs* one never knows. IE is quite basic now that I think about it, I sometimes use these programs habitually, not because I necessarily LIKE them, but because they are there and they need to be used (must be my OCD talking) working on a 56k dial up connection doesn’t help matters when it comes to programs I want. Perhaps when I shake the n00bness off of me, I’ll get my act together and start looking like a REAL nerd. :p
December 14, 2004 at 7:57 am #108745RabidKittenParticipantHeh, some of us never -look- like nerds…just check miami out some time. You’d never guess he was a geek at heart *shakes her head in disbelief* Of course then you have the classic chic geek like yours truely. Which will you become mmm??? *raises a brow*
December 14, 2004 at 8:12 am #108751RuseOfMetacarpiMemberYou mean sometimes nerds don’t LOOK like nerds!?!?! I can attest to that, in high school my peers would tease me about how I looked like I belonged in a HUGO commercial instead of sitting on my a** in front of a computer. I can see myself turning into one of those hot old computer professors. Egocentricity anyone??? PS: chic geek like “totally”
December 14, 2004 at 8:19 am #108746RabidKittenParticipant*laughs* you and miami should form a club…but I require a complimentary jacket and membership for coming up with the idea… *shifty eyes* Because…well you know…I don’t like feeling left out…and I don’t want to accept my geekdom, even though countless tv shows have stolen my “look” for their “geek” characters. DAMN YOU SISTER SISTER, FULL HOUSE AND THOSE OTHER TEENY BOPPER SHOWS! Steriotyping hurts you know… *sniffle*
December 14, 2004 at 8:46 pm #108752RuseOfMetacarpiMember*flips hair off of shoulder* Full house is SOOO 1990’s. Somehow the turqouise tights and oversized pink sweaters of Full House-esque fashion styling doesn’t strike me as “nerd” so much as “current fashion of the 80’s/90’s” PS: On the members only jacket idea how about the phrase “Members Hackit” printed on the back? *resumes petting fluffy kitten*
December 16, 2004 at 12:15 am #108747SS_AntiHackerMemberHi RuseOfMetacarpi,
Try to remove it using Ad-aware, Spybot while your Windows is in Safe-mode. If that doesn’t help. Try to manually delete the “7x2moad” file, also search for its name and delete it from the registry. If you need further help, please post again =)
