Well, rustedtight, I was thinking of you today. While i was walking over my yard, picking up pecans, gathering them to make the good pecan pies in a couple of days. I remember you saying you wanted some. 🙂 I wish I could email them to you. 🙂
I am having a problem with the dang squirrels and blackbirds this year, trying to eat them all.
I have a great recipe for pecan pies that is easy, but im sure you all have one, but if anyone is interested in it, tell me and i will be glad to post it here. 🙂November 26, 2002 at 5:21 pm #66083shearheavenMemberPecan pie is one of my favorites and I am baking one for Thanksgiving. In these parts pecan are spendy, while walnuts are cheap and grow just about in everyones yard. The problem is hubby doesn’t like walnuts so I cook with pecans. Also my preferance.
Mel…we can always use another pecan recipe…go ahead and post it hon. I would love to have it…:p

2/3 cup sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1/3 cup butter, melted
1 cup light corn syrup
1 cup chopped pecansBeat all ingredients except pecans together. Mix in pecans. Pour into 9 in pie crust. Bake at 350 for 40 to 50 min, or until set and crust is browned.
thanks for wanting it. Almost everything I ever make is easy, and this is very easy.
It was my mothers recipe for years, so it is a very treasured recipe to me. There are probably a million like it, but, this was hers. Getting my sentimental ole heart going now. 🙂
I never even tried to make it until after she died. It is very very good. -
