Memberwhat has happend to my beloved icq”? i happen to hav been forced into upgradeing soo . Im wondering is it normal to get a lot of fake spamer ims. i didnt used too now i do sometime 5 to 10 a nite! .And also listen when i searched a town in ohio for anybody ther it said nobody found , Hey i know how to search its found people scadd of um befor now its lazy right ??? OK the mai thing izzz that like3 years ago new peple would contact me from all over . i gues it was because i belonged to 40 something icq group ( the big one ) well now uh i see ther are several infintessimal forty something groups formed ar e the cloudying up the water or doi think people hav become anti social in 2 years ?? huh let me know ? im 159749811 ok.My complaint is when you stated with icq you had means to literally find a chat freind shur it took some effort and shur lots of times it was just the 1 time and breifly but dang it seems so imposible to get anyone in the states to a chat from icq anymor does anyone see this here am i deaf dum and blind ? does icq put new people in a “comunication’s inqubator “then yank them out after 2 years ,and throw them to the spammers ? There seems like ther must be some differance in whos gettin what service for shur sooo if this isc icq country maybe someone will bust this wide open please feel free to reply dont be feeble!

MemberOkay. You mentioned not being able to find a chat partner from the USA. Are you implying that you can readily find people from Europe and Asia? It is apparent to me that over the last 4 years, ICQ users in North America have been switching away from ICQ to primarily MSN Messenger, and also Yahoo! Messenger. But ICQ is still popular among Europe and Asian users.
You mentioned spam. Are you receiving instant messages containing spam, like, “Visit my WebCam site: http://tripod…” or are you receiving authorization requests asking you to add the person to your contact list? I’m afraid the spam problem on ICQ is ongoing. Since ICQ’s developers took effective steps to eliminate incoming spam in the form of regular messages, ICQ spammers are now exploiting authorization requests to push their spam. To avoid the authorization request spam you can disable Web Aware in Preferences / General.
Okay. I think that mostly covers your concerns about ICQ.
