Participantaccounts for what? google didnt turn up any useful results for “magic-psv” – all i could gather from the very limited information i did see is that its some kind of password recovery program?
i dont know if the program will show up or not, but you can try to remove it through the control panel. Go to ‘Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs’ and see if the program shows up in that list. if it does, try to remove it that way.
i’d also suggest doing a few spyware/adware sweeps of your computer. i recommend using Ad-Aware, Spybot, and Microsoft Anti-Spyware. also do a virus scan with whatever virus scanning software you have.
hope that helps…

MemberShe’s got MAGIC PS v (as in VERSION) 1.5 SE. I believe this is the version Spybot gets rid of… The reason you could not find it Tiger is because you did not take it all apart 😉
EDIT: Sugar, you may want to change your passwords the moment you have your PC clean and are sure there is nothing else on it.

otherwise, have you tried running the other scans in safe mode? ‘Start > Run’, then type msconfig. on the “BOOT.INI” tab, check the box that says “/SAFEBOOT”, then restart. the system will come up in safe mode… run the scans, see if they come up with anything. repeat the previous step and uncheck the safeboot box, then restart again.
if nothing else, try taking your computer to a technician and see if they can do anything to remove it.

MemberHave you tried Microsoft’s Anti-spy? It works with the same engine as CounterSpy and finds all sorts of nasties. It is still in BETA, but it is free for a while and this might be your best bet to get rid of Magic. I know I had a version of magic that spybot DID find, so if this is not the same version, sorry. 🙁 However, the microsoft should get rid of it and you might find you have other things on your PC you never knew about (that’s what happened to me!) THEN, once all of that is taken care of, download AVG like Tiger suggested…it seems to work pretty well over all.

MemberGuys guys relax. Download Webroot spysweeper, that get rids of ALL Magic PS versions. I have tested them myself for ALL versions of Magic PS. If that doesnt work, then we will try another set of things. Removing Magic PS is not difficult. Trust me. I know many many viruses, which Microsoft Anti Spy, Counter Spy, Spybot, Adware, etc etc, cant remove, but the Spy sweeper gets rid of them.

NO program is 100%
