everytime i try to sign into msn i get this message ..
‘We could not sign you in to MSN Messenger. It appears you are behind a firewall that does not allow a direct connection to the internet. We tried to sign you in through an xy, but your Internet Explorer proxy settings are either missing or incorrect. To adjust your IE proxy settings, click the IE Tools menu, click Internet Options, click the connection tab, and then click LAN Settings.’

September 3, 2003 at 7:44 am #56063MortiOliMemberQuote:quote:Are you an AOL user? Can’t sign in your MSN? Well apparently AOL has some internal problems, so that’s why you can’t sign in. They said they’re working on the problem, and that you should try again later.Update!
Dear energise-, a visitor in our IRC channel has created a HTTP Proxy for the AOL users to use. This is what you do to use the proxy:1. Go to MSN -> Tools -> Options -> Connection
2. Check the ‘I use a proxy’ box
3. Pick ‘HTTP Proxy’ from the type pulldown box
4. Enter server address: 81.178.239.196 and port: 3128
5. Leave the other boxes alone, and press OkNow you will be able to connect to MSN! Please note that this proxy is hosted on a single user connection, so limited bandwidth is available and things can get slow. But it’s better than nothing!
September 3, 2003 at 8:40 am #56073TRENTYMemberYeah its nothing to do with firewalls, i connected to Msn Messenger using my freeola account no problem, the problem for me is definetly my AOL account i just can’t connect to Messenger through that. Thanks for the proxy settings but i still can’t log on must be a few using it!! 🙁
September 3, 2003 at 9:25 am #56066ollipopMemberI cant log on with those settings either, any other ideas? know when it’ll be sorted?
September 3, 2003 at 10:33 am #56080mwalsh1Member🙁 yeah i just tried that and it doesnt work this is a pain:mad:
