ParticipantClick on one of the post as if you are going to edit it and on the bottom you get four options, and one should be delete! Then choose the “Delete Message” option, then click “Delete this Message” and it should be gone!
Or if you click “Go Advanced”, on the top it has:
Deletion Options
Do Not Delete Message
Delete Message
Physically Remove MessageMake sure the selection is on “Delete Message” as it is on “Do Not Delete Message” by default. Then click: Delete this Message
And your post should be gone!
Hope this helps!
Oh and double posting can happen if you accidently click the submit post button twice, your computer lags while you hit the submit button, or things like that… (well that’s how it happens to me).
And i was going to delete one of your post for you, but i thought i’d leave it so you can get your first practice on deleteing your double post. So let me know if you need more help! 🙂
Edit: You can also add in a reason for deletion in the box provided if you wish to do so, like “accidently double posted.” But it’s not required!

MemberThanks! I love it when I get well explained answers!
I did hit the edit button yesterday, hoping that a “delete” option would be available. If I had hovered the mouse over the edit button again I would have seen the delete! Duh!
Nope, I didn’t double post. I would have owned up to that. I hit the submit button once and watched (in horror) as my post flashed up on the screen twice – page two first then page one! I was getting worried that it was just going to keep putting up the same post ad nauseam!
Now that problem is settled… do you have a fix for my washing machine? It broke yesterday too!

ParticipantGlad you understood my explanation!

As for this problem….. Well first you hit the left side of the washing machine, then the right, then you give it a good kick in the center and all should be well!

Let’s be glad i don’t work in the appliance repair business…..

MemberI did all that kicking and swearing right after the repairman said it would be $70.00 plus tax just to come out and look at it. The flippin thing is only six years old, so yes I tried the kick and swear thing.
Back on topic… I still can’t find the actual delete part on my posts. It just keeps giving me the box to edit the text within my posts. No four options showed up for advanced mode either. What am I missing???:(

KeymasterYou click the Edit button, and you’ll see a delete option. 😉
December 7, 2007 at 11:33 pm #155289VvWolverinevV
ParticipantNegative, Jeff. Maybe that is an admin only option at the moment.

KeymasterActually, it should be just ABOVE those sections in your screen shot. You click the edit button, then click advanced edit, and at the top you’ll see another section. And it’s not just available to administrators, I promise! 😉

ParticipantMaybe I’m going crazy, but I really don’t see it 🙁

ModeratorHey Wolverine, if you’re still having trouble with a duplicate post, PM me and I’ll fix it for you. Also, you are aware (I assume) that you have to submit a post first before you can edit or delete it.

ParticipantYes, I am aware of all of this. It would be nice if we didn’t have to PM staff every time we wanted to delete a post that we just submitted though.
