I was trying to create a thread today and kept getting the following message: The message you have entered is too short. Please lengthen your message to at least 5 characters.
My message was way more than 5 characters.
I ended up posting it using Chrome and it worked fine. Exact same message.
I tried to create another thread using IE to see if it was just a glitch the first time and same problem again.
IE8
November 3, 2010 at 4:28 am #176879Jeff HesterKeymasterThanks for reporting this, Nessa. I’m using Chrome as my primary browser, and as you noted, it works fine.
For the record, I’m posting this using the Quick Reply form and Google Chrome on Mac OS X.
Can I get a few more people to jump in with other browsers and test?

November 3, 2010 at 4:52 am #176885Bill GatesMemberAha! I just had the problem. If I use the “add reply” button for the advanced editor, then I get the “too short” message in IE8.
November 3, 2010 at 4:55 am #176880Jeff HesterKeymaster“Bill” please test again. I’ve adjusted some of the settings…
November 3, 2010 at 4:58 am #176886Bill GatesMemberStill doesn’t work from the advanced reply. Quick reply works fine.
November 7, 2010 at 7:50 am #176883detn8rParticipantI just tried creating a new thread using Firefox, and it gave me the message it too short error as well. I just hit the back button and reposted it and it seemed to go through OK. Annoying!

December 17, 2011 at 12:54 am #176882GandalfMemberCan anyone test this yet again? I think it’s working (at least it is for me… no wizardry required).
December 17, 2011 at 1:15 am #176887Bill GatesMemberTesting with IE7 on WinXP and works fine. Hoo-ray!
