I’m using the v. 6 BETA of Messenger, and I love the LANCHcast Radio service. I listen to it while I’m going to sleep, but it stops it self when Messenger sets itself to idle. Is there anyway to set the idle time higher, or turn it off.. or someway to beat the idling? Maybe some soft of addon (hack) to send a message to my self every so often to keep it from going idle?
Thanks for any ideas. 😉
Crotch you can go to your messengers preference, click Privacy, and where it says Idle Status and make sure both those boxes are unchecked, then click apply and ok and that should take care of it.;)
Weirdly enough, I believed it only worked once, as I was able to play Lanchcast with out it idleing out. However, changing this option only seems to turn off notification of being idle.
Does anyone else have a solution?
What’s Up?
On Yahoo! Messenger click the Login menu and go to preferences. Navigate down to privacy and change the time you want to be idle before it actually shows you idle. If that doesn’t work you can do it in the registery.
Click the Start menu and go to run
Type regedit
Navigate to H_KEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareYahooPagerprofilesYour_Yahoo_IDAlerts
Double click “Minutes To Idle”
Click Decimal instead of Hexadecimal and change the time (In minutes) to however long you want until you’re considered idle.
Or you could just check off “Don’t show anyone how long I’ve been idle”
Good luck 😉
These options only prevent you from being shown as idle. It doesn’t actually prevent you from becoming idle.
