I like to always “preview” before submitting my post.
This is fine in the Forums area, but in News section it simply DOESN’T !I attach a screenshot – AFTER having clicked “preview post” – seems it just reroutes back to the same page I was on.
(And it makes no difference whether in “guided” or “enhanced” mode.)January 2, 2006 at 2:35 am #134454SpikeMemberFor a second opinion, I, too, am having this problem.
January 2, 2006 at 2:40 am #134457LinuxAddictMemberMy bad. It doesn’t work. I was looking at the wrong forum.

I’m using Fire Fox.interesting… i’m using firefox as well and it doesnt work at all for me. just redirects as it did for eagle_kiwi. what version of ff are you using?January 24, 2006 at 4:01 am #134450narayananMemberSubmit reply does’nt work either for me :(. Are the news comments being moderated ?
January 24, 2006 at 4:06 am #134455SpikeMemberI’ve just added my comment to that news article, and it seemed to work fine. I don’t believe we’re moderating posts, either. Could you specify what news article you tried to submit to, and what internet browser you’re using?
January 24, 2006 at 4:11 am #134451narayananMemberI’ve been trying to add a comment on the same Connect to Gtalk article. After I submit, I get an empty reply box without my message being posted on the message history below.
January 24, 2006 at 4:19 am #134456SpikeMemberOkay, two questions:
1. What internet browser are you using?
2. Are you sure you’re logged into the forums when you post?
Try pressing “Alt + S” instead of hitting submit, also. This is a really odd problem you have, I’m puzzled by it.

UPDATE:Before I press Submit or Alt-S
After I press submit/Alt-S
As soon as I press submit/Alt-S I note the left end of my taskbar trying to show some Javascript error. Its too instantaneous I could’nt note whats happening or catch a screeshot of it.

UPDATE 2:I made IE to show all script errors and this is what I got:
I pressed ok now, and it allowed me to post the message!
January 24, 2006 at 5:53 am #134448Jeff HesterKeymasterIt appears that there is a bug (or two) in the templates used for our news section. This was probably aggrevated when we upgraded our forums last week. We’ll go back over the templates this week and clear things up in the next day or two.
Thanks for alerting us to the problem!
January 25, 2006 at 9:00 am #134453narayananMemberI had the same problem again while I posted in the same thread. But guess what, I experimented with Opera 8.5 and it posted on the very first attempt. IE6 and Firefox 1.5 got on my nerves attempting to post.
