I posted a message under IP Sniffers Fact or Fiction, however now I am wondering if I posted it in the right area, I am looking for help in how to stop PM and Offline Reading in Yahoo.
I know it exists, it has been proven to me, I have format reloaded this computer, but the problem exists.
I do not understand why this is such a non discussed topic in Yahoo; for whatever the reason. In all of Yahoo’s supposed upgrades, not once was this topic or this issue dealt with.
How do these programs work and how do you stop it?
Just to clarify for anyone unsure of your statement, you are refering to someone other than the intended recipient having access to your Instant Message conversations. You are also ruling out the use of a Trojan, as you say you have reformatted and the problem still occurs.
Now who exactly is gaining this information? Someone from a remote location, or someone who has access to your computer?
Yes shifter, you are correct in what you are saying, it was someone other than the intended recipient. Yes, the problem still exsits and the computer has been formatted.
And, no the information is not coming from anyone who has access to this computer, if you go back and read a message posted by Netti, on Aug. 2003, she described the same situation as is happening to me and countless others. So I am left assuming it must be coming from a remote location.
It is happening without my consent and permission. I have been left with little choice at the moment other than to create a screen name that does not allow any friends, and try and find what they are calling an IP Cloaker.
