Ok I’ve been having problems when I clone AIM and then exit. For starters, I’m running Windows XP, the latest version of AIM (5.2.3292), and the free version of DeadAIM (v3.2.8). Normally I’m on my primary screenname, and every once in a while I use the DeadAIM cloning to sign on my second screenname just to check on people from that list. Once I’m done with that sn, I sign off of it and then exit that instance of AIM from the system tray. Usually I get this message:
The instruction at “0x77f5b2ab” referenced memory at “0x00000028”. The memory could not be “read”. Click OK to terminate the program.
it doesnt do anything else, it doesnt cause any actual problems, its just an annoying hassle. For some reason it hasnt done it for a while lately, but suddenly it started doing it again today… any ideas why this is?
October 5, 2003 at 2:42 am #54950Someguy03MemberI have been getting that since i got deadaim so your not the only one. Ive actually grown to see it as a normal notification. I have downloaded and reinstalled it several times and tried all the Aim versions with deadaim. It alyways pops up.
October 5, 2003 at 3:01 am #54952TigerbladeParticipantso basically…. you’re sayin i just have to live with it, there’s nothing we can do… alrighty then i suppose.
any idea what’s causing it though? just out of curiosity?
October 5, 2003 at 5:21 am #54949Someguy03MemberWell, rumor has it that a Deadaim 4.1 (i doubt it) is coming out that works well with the new aim. If this is true then hopefully the error will be fixed…
October 5, 2003 at 5:26 am #54951TigerbladeParticipantbut i’m gonna assume that DeadAIM 4.1 isnt gonna be free… so my choice is to stay with the problem or shell out money (meaning i get to stay with the problem)
