I have differents problems
with both of em :skype and messenger
With msn when doing a webcam conversation I seen my friend freezing often and the conversation last for 2 minutes maximum before she gets disconected from msn
She doens’t have that problem with her other friends and my other friends do not own a webcam so I can’t try and see,but the problem is on my side,I’m making her loose her connection
With skype we send eachother invites but we don’t receive them so our accounts can’t even communicate
It’s not related to my firewall,it’s the regular windows vista firewall and I tryed with him disconnected
I had untill now only one problem with a mmorpg connection and it was because of the on access scan of Mcafee
So I tryed deactivating that too,but to no avail
Also see attachment for another hint
Any help would be welcome
Also and sorry for that but I choosed to connect throught my facebook account and this website connected me as steve with 55 posts I am not him and will disconnect now and I’ll log in with an account I’ll create here to aswer from now on
This is really weirdMay 15, 2010 at 5:34 pm #176895RakanishuMemberok created an account
I never posted 55 times with my account here as steve lol
So sorry steve I can access to your account but will not do it again
In fact I just discovered this site and never used it before
I enter my email address and facebook password and get connected as steve
So I created this Id by registering on this website and not connecting through facebookMay 15, 2010 at 8:06 pm #176891Doris KenneyParticipantWindows Live Messenger has had serious webcam issues since the last release. Just the fact that you could use cam, even if it freezes is better than lots of people were able to do. In fact, the latest version has temporarily removed webcam altogether. It would be very difficult to distinguish between a problem on you or your contact’s end – and a WLM issue.
While the WLM connection test is not all that accurate in many respects – it’s indicating WLM has a problem communicating between your computer and your modem/router. That can be caused by so many things it can be hard to diagnose. The first thing I’d probably do is a complete reboot of the router/modem.
I’d also double check the firewall and anti-virus and be 100% sure both Skye and WLM are allowed through 100%. There could be some small setting that’s blocking them. I’d also suggest a quick scan with Malwarebytes(a free program) just to be sure there is no malware causing connectivity issues. A quick scan is sufficient (just be sure you allow it to update definitions) and remove whatever it finds.

Tryed even cutting them off to see
So it might be because I installed windows explorer recently(before they disabled the webcam altogether) and that my friend and her friends still use older versions
So I hope yahoo messenger will work
Will do a test tonight and see
But I might have problem since WLM connection test it’s indicating WLM has a problem communicating between my computer and my modem/router
And nothing helped, even restarting the modem
I have a very basic network ,My only computer is connected directly via my network card to the net.
I have also made a scan with the program you recomended and it found nothing ,my comp is totally cleanMay 15, 2010 at 10:33 pm #176892Doris KenneyParticipantIt’s good to check Yahoo, but don’t depend on it. The webcam in Yahoo has always been buggy.
If you have a hard connection to the modem, you might try another network cable. Sometimes the cables can go bad. I wouldn’t necessarily run out and buy one, but if you have a spare one around it can’t hurt to try.
Maybe someone will have some other suggestions.
May 16, 2010 at 4:17 am #176893RakanishuMemberI changed the network cable and WLM connection test is all green
So it should probably work now,I am waiting for my friend to come to make a test
Thancks even if it doesn’t work lol
Because at least the WLM connection test is green nowEdited:
Ok we have made some progress now if only her put her webcam she doesn’t loose connection
But If I put mine she loose connection with msn only without an error messageOh also her status is green on the WLM connection test
edit
Ok its silly but if we just start the webcams without the sound ,all goes well ,we spended a lot of time toghether

Video call using both sound and video has been flaky for a long time. One of the recommendations is to start video only with no sound. Then you can try adding a call separately to get the voice.
It may or may not work, and I know it’s a few extra steps, but it’s worth a try. Just establish video first, then add voice. Let me know if that helps.
May 16, 2010 at 7:39 pm #176896RakanishuMemberthanks didn’t thought to try to add sound separately silly me
As soon as my friend is connected we will try thatEdit:
Ok when doing as recommended it still crashes so I guess it’s really a proble of WLM
I’m still happy the video works
So I hope they fix all this for the next realeses
I’ll try to find an alternative program by the meantime
If you know anyAnd thancks for all the help
