MemberI’m sorry if this is an easy known problem but i’m very new to YM.
I can’t send files over 1mb in size to my friends via YM. He can send me anything (i’ve recieved files over 82mb). I’m running YM on a Mac OS 10.2.3 and a PC Windows 2000 Professional. On the PC i’m running YM 5.5 and on the Mac 2.5.1 I connect to my ISP via a router an AMX 64. Could this be the problem? I can’t see why i can recieve big files but not send them. As i said at the start, sorry if this is an easy fix that i should know.
Thanks for all your help.April 23, 2003 at 10:49 am #63268Pitbull On Roids
MemberHmmmm……. Could be a variety of things. Temporary solution for now…… download a file-splitter and you can break up whatever you’re sending him into 1mb. chunks if needs be. Then, he could assemble it fully on the other end. This actually works quite well.

MemberThis is what Zip Programs are for. Alot of people only use these programs when unziping a file, But you can zip files too. Zip it, Send it, & the person its sent to Unzips it.

So what exactly IS your question? I don’t see any. 🙂
To get filesharing working with Yahoo! Instant Messenger when you are behind a router, you will have to forward TCP port 5010 from your router to the machine you are running the Yahoo! IM client on.
Other than that, this ‘question’ is totally irrelevant to this topic. You should have browsed the forum to see if the question had been asked before, and then created a new discussion. 🙂

MemberEvery time I try to send or receive a file through Yahoo Messenger, it freezes and shuts down.
I have tried several different versions of Messenger, doing a clean install everytime, but I still have the same problem.
Could this be a conflict with my Internet Explorer security settings or perhaps with the settings on my firewall?
