I can’t exactly remember the exact error message as this happened a few days ago, but I had tried sending a ~300mb file through Direct Connect, and it popped up “Not enough memory, Please free up more memory” something like that
I was just wondering if this were something built into AIM to prevent large transfers or whatever. I’m fairly sure that there isn’t anything wrong with my computer (in terms of harddrive space, RAM, or processing power)… I don’t really know what other factors would play a roleI know this has happened to other people in the past, but I can’t remember how they solved it

You shouldnt send large files over direct connect because it cant be resumed if something happens. you should do a file transfer.
May 10, 2005 at 10:58 pm #121463DavidParticipantDirect Connect should never, ever be used for something that big, it requires a lot of memory on both the client and host computers. As aznballa161 said, it’s much better to use File Transfer or even a different medium, such as FTP or even HTTP.

Thing is… I didn’t know about any other file transfering mediums that would work… and I don’t have a ftp/http host or anything…EDIT: o… aznballa meant “File send…”
That never works for me… I don’t know why… It’s transfer rate is just 0kB/s -
