Hi, so I recently did the required HP updates for my PC, but forgot to restart and my computer went to sleep before it restarted causing it to crash. Since this I have had a few errors, but none more troubling that the problems with IE.
Particularly when I click certain sites it just says waiting, and doesn’t load. I have reset my IE settings to default and taken it off protected mode (as I can’t figure out how to turn protected mode back on). I’m desperate for help as I truly do not want to download FireFox or any other sublimental browser.
Thanks
EDIT: Apologize for the double post (this forum and the other wasn’t sure where it belonged and am quite desperate for an answer)
Hi, you don’t mention which version of IE you’re using, so I’ll assume it’s IE8. To turn on protected mode, go to Tools > Internet options > Security tab. Check the Enable protected mode box, close and restart IE.
Firefox and other browsers aren’t bad, IMO. Particularly if you’re having unusual problems with a certain browser, another browser can least help you until things are sorted out.
