MemberI am hoping someone can help me fix this annoying problem i am having with YM instant messenger windows. No matter what i do, I cant seem to get my IM window to stay resized to the way i want it. On the screen shot there are 2 windows: the top one i resized so it is manageable, the bottom one is the size it first appears when i recieve and send IM’s. I dont know what i did to make them stay like that but it is driving me crazy. Use to when u resized ur windows the next time u recieved one it was the same size as the one u redid. Any ideas on how to correct this small problem?

ParticipantIt’s my belief that yahoo saves the width and height of the last pm you had open before you close yahoo! messenger.
so make sure the width and height that you prefer is the last pm you close before you exit yahoo!
again im not sure about this but try it and let me know.

MemberHey Dermot, I sent an IM after i resized it to the size i wanted, then close it out and exited out of yahoo, then restarted it and clicked on a name to send another IM and guess what it was STILL big….lol, just cant understand why its not defaulting back to the size of the last IM window.. I am using beta 8 version, when i sign in under my other screen name the window works fine stays the size i made it. Just dont understand why its doing this under the one I always use. But thank u for trying to help and if u can think of anything else let me know

MemberKeep in mind that it could be one of the many bugs that are in the new version 8.
You may be able to find a work around it for the time being, but I think its just something that Yahoo has to fix.
I’m sure someone here will find out what you need to change internally in your program to fix it.

MemberIt’s definately a Yahoo 8 bug. It can’t even remember it’s last location either. It basically ignores the registry settings.

then click on the + to the left of your Yahoo ID
find IM UI Setting left click on that folder
then in the box to the right find the followingright click on Height and select delete
right click on width and select deleteopen a pm resize it, close it, then the next time you open a pm it should be
