Hello,
My name is JAM2002. Id#=11674834. I have just completed the installation of ODIGO version 3.1 (build 575) and I seem to be having some problems.I have donwloaded and installed the YAHOO plug in (and others) and I have went through the correct path(s) to add my yahoo account. It says that it has been added, but I dont see my friends list from yahoo.
Can anyone advise me on this, please!!!! It is driving my crazy. I like to think that I am an educated man (no smart ass comments – like on GO****YOURSELF.COM hahahahah) and I know my around in computers a good bit. I still seem to have trouble with this FU(*&%$&$king thing.
If you have had this problem or could point me in the direction of someone who has, please let me know ASAP!
You can contact my via email (wwwwebjunkie30@icqmail.com, ODIGO ID#11674834, or just post a reply.) Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

KeymasterYou know, it USED to work! I stopped using Odigo for connection to AIM, Yahoo, MSN, ICQ, etc. quite a while ago, but after reading your message I gave it a try. And guess what? I couldn’t seem to connect. Odigo SAID I was connected, but didn’t add my Yahoo contacts, and didn’t (as far as I could tell) actually connect me.
So I’ve sent an email to the black hole (aka tech support). We’ll see what they say.
In the meantime, I’ve found a better interoperable messenger. It’s called Trillian. It works with AIM, MSN, Yahoo, ICQ and even IRC, and it allows you to create multiple, simultaneous connections (in case you have more than one Yahoo account, for example). Best of all? It works.

KeymasterWell how about that!? Checking my email this morning I had a reply from Odigo Tech Support!!! I think that’s a first! I’ve never gotten replies from either Yahoo or AOL.
Here’s what they said:
Quote:quote:We are sorry that you are facing problems with Odigo.Currently, we are facing communication problems with the Yahoo Messenger service.
Please note that a solution will be introduced shortly.
We suggest that you keep posted to our website for further updates
Looking forward to seeing you surf with Odigo.
So it looks like there’s a problem with Odigo and Yahoo compatibility for now.

MemberI faced the same problems, and for that reason, along with a number of others, have decided to stop using odigo (not like i used to for more then three hours to begin with)
However, Trillian has given me just as many problems, but that’s left to a different forum and a different thread. 🙂

KeymasterYou might check out AT&T’s IM Anywhere: https://bigblueball.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1323
It’s got a simpler interface than Trillian, and the beta version does work with Yahoo (download the beta, not the production version).

Yes, the production version cannot connect to Yahoo, as is the situation with several of the Jabber clients.
