MemberOk, im still having the same problems, but could it be because micrsoft websites seem to be having problems? i cant download messanger 6.0 from their website, or from the link on THIS forum. Also when sending emails asking for help to hotmail, msn, or net passport, the page can not be found. Anyone else having same problems??

MemberRaft ..
Dunno if you’ve been reading other posts – but try this.
On IE, click tools, internet options, then connections tab.
Next click LAN settings, then advanced.
In the box for http: proxy server, type 62.254.96.4 and ensure that the port is 8080.
Click ok.
Make sure that the box for use a proxy server is ticked.
Restart IE.
This will get you into microsoft and hotmail sites, although it doesn’t solve the msn messenger problems.
If i get a solution to that one, I shall let you know.
cheers.

MemberHmm – ok.
Not too sure on that one then. I’ve been reading a few posts on other forums (http://www.nthellworld.com and http://www.adslguide.org.uk) which are saying the problem may be down to NTL closing a port to stop the recent viruses, and that they are working on fixing it.
Have a look on some of those sites and see if there’s any info that’s useful to you.
I’m in Manchester area – current state is I can log into hotmail and msn.com (using above proxy settings) – but still can’t sign in to messenger.
I have also found this site – which will allow you to log on to msn through a web based client – useful for notifying all of your mates that your msn is down!!!
Good luck!!

MemberOk, i downloaded netscape navigator 7.0 and tried using hotmail from that with the stored NET passport and that worked. So that means somehting is wrong with my ie 6. How would i reinstall ie 6? it was installed with my XP. Or is reinstalling even the problem?
