Well my network between all 3 of the computers in the house worked fine until windows had to be reinstalled on my comp. (registry deleted by a prank) So, I have one 98 and 2 XP’s and they all connect to a linksys 4 port router to share net, etc.
So after I reinstalled windows my 98 stopped showing any connections at all, and neither did the XP that got windows reinstalled on it. My other XP only detected a network with the 98 after the install (oviously). So, I ran the network setup wizard. And then Used the network install file as suggested by the wizard on my 98. I restarted the comp, and then finished the setup. Nothing happened except that now the 98 PC could see itself on the network even though the XP with windows reinstalled couldnt (the XP with windows reinstalled cant see anything at all, even itself).
So, I tried several other options on the setup wizard and that didnt work either. I have tried everything I can think of to establish a network connection and it alyways fails. All of the computers are set to share files and so on.
Anyone have suggestions on how to get the network to work or does anyone know of an easier network management setup tool that might help?
Note: I am able to share a broadband connection through the router but am unable to access the other computers. (2nd XP PC can access 98 PC but XP and 98 PC cant access anything else)

Check for any software firewall such as ZoneAlarm and make sure that it is not blocking access to your other computers.January 8, 2004 at 12:48 am #51376Someguy03MemberI solved the problem. Thanks for ur help Fimus, that used to be a problem but i sorted that out several weeks ago.
