Yes, thats right.
I found out how to bypass yahoo’s authentication mechanism.
So, once I tidy some things up.
Profile Tweaker version 2, will be released.
It does appear that Yahoo! has implimented a special chars feature for nicknames. so I will be testing how to bypass that later.
It appears you can bypass the language settings too
lol, damn I should have sniffed this a while ago.
Question, what works better?
Chinese Mainland? Hong Kong?
Or should I add all of them?

Well, It would be cool if you could just have it change the nickname/age language to enable ASCII, ect, without the whole profile being in chinese. Is that what you’re talking about? Also, maybe you should let us choose from a drop down list of languages that are known to work right now, so that if one gets patched later you wouldn’t have to release a whole new version for one minor change.
I’d say the the whole profile, before I moved I was on dial up and trying to load yahoo’s pages always took too long compared to profile apps. I also agree that you should add a combo box or whathave you to allow selection of all the languages. Also I really don’t know what all you have included, but an option once your profile is edited and say you click Ok to close the program, it could switch your language back if let’s say you have a checkbox asking a user if they would like it changed or not. I had started a profile app awhile back and after working on my own yahoo client I discarded the idea for now, but they are good to have
I was actually trying to get the language change to work via Cookies,
changing the language and international settings.
(This of course would be super easy…)
But, It appears Yahoo checks it against their database, so you would have to set the language prefs manually.
I am trying to get past the secure login part of the change langauge feature.
If I can, then I will include it into the Program, to have it automatically change to the Language, then Change back to English?
Or should I make that a seperate list? To further enhance the programs functionality?
Exactly. Just set a checkox giving user option to switch his/her language back if they choose to after they are done editing. Not sure about the cookies though. I’m stabbing in the dark here and probably way off as im not sure exactly how id would work, but maybe theres a way to pull the cookie much in the same way the java apps out there do? I’m probably wrong but hey never know till its tried, but I shall look into it and offer what I can
Getting The Cookie is no problem, and I have messed with cookies for a bout a year.
I was referring to setting options on the cookie, without actaully setting options to the overall account.
In everyones cookie there is a spot for language and international settings.
When I first tried this, I was replacing us with CN which is chinese mainland.
But to no avail, so from what I have found in testing is that you actually have to go through the http://edit.yahoo.com/config/set_intl?
And then go through the agree part as well.
Not sure if there would be an automatic way of doing it yet.
But one could hope lol
What I had an idea and I have them saved here somewheres was, I went to my own account info switched all the languages going thru the agree boxes and saving each link that it listed and then inserting them, granted itd be alot of code to insert but it worked for what I was doing, but who knows, Yahoo has been trying to change so much one can never tell
