I did this by accident, when I was just messing around with old versions. So I thought that I’d share this with you: You can put yourself onto other people’s buddy lists without asking them, or even talking to them. Download the first version of AIM from oldversions.com. Sign in, and you’ll notice your buddy list is empty. Anyone you add to your buddy list, will get your sn added to their buddy list under the Recent Buddies group.

although wouldnt you tend to notice if suddenly there’s some new name on your list that you dont know? i’m not saying I sit around and memorize my buddylist, but I think i’d notice if a new name popped up.
sure I suppose they have their name on there for however long it is until you see it, but hopefully you see it soon enough that it doesnt matterbut yeah this does suck no matter what. gotta love AO freakin L
Sure, but the point is still that their system is screwed up, and you know some AOL script kiddies going to exploit this.

I think this thread should be removed. Even though it’s informative and interesting, it will be exploited. Interesting info though.
Just to point out:
It seems that AOL has started doing this recently for everyone. ANYONE you talk to will be added to your recent buddys list until moved to a new buddylist group or deleted.
It’s not some exploit nor do you need an old AIM version to do it.

yeah, thats who you talk to. With this way, you don’t even need to talk to them. I dont do this, because I’m set on my modded aim, so I dont do this, but just for anyone who does, you don’t need to talk to them.
