MemberDoes the IM Forwarding service provided by AOL work only for AOL members, not AIM members? It doesn’t seem to work for me (I only have AIM, not AOL service). It shows the little phone icon when I sign off, but it doesn’t seem to forward the IMs to my cell phone.

MemberSo far i have only found 1 program that can change font color and its really crappy. So i would try searching google. And a side note, dont post a totally diffrent question in diffrent topics. Try to stick to the main theme of the topic your on. If you want to ask your own question make your own topic.
and for tontammo, Forwarding works with aim and aol. And if you still havent got a IM on your Cell phone it usually means your cell doesnt support Aim forwarding. I believe theres a List of supported phones on the aim forwarding site.

MemberI know my cell phone supports AIM. I have mMode and AIM on it. It is a Siemens C56 with AT&T Wireless service. I dunno what I’m doing incorrectly.

Membersigh. I think I should just give up on this entire IM forwarding thing. I wanted to set up IM forwarding so I don’t have to log onto mMode (thus, saving money). The imforwards.com worked again for a split second, and now it is gone again. So frustrating.

MemberOk, Their ended up being a 4 page topic on problems with aim forwarding. I suggest you just give up. Its not a very good service, but you can check the topic its at the top of the aim forum.

MemberThank you for all your help someguy03. I don’t see why people are having such a hard time turning the IM forwarding service on and off. I have no trouble at all. Currently, imforwards.com’s service seems to be working finally, although the service is still sketchy. It seems to log on periodically, even kicking me off once, but it does forward IMs to my cell phone. I guess it will do for now.
*Btw, I think the imforwards.com is better because I can leave an away message explaining what the service does, how I can’t reply right away, etc.
Thanks again.

MemberI have a T-Mobile Siemens cell phone which has AIM on it. I never set up my phone to have messages forwarded onto my phone, and if I did I have no idea how I did it. Last month I received a bill for $561 for text messages with AIM that I never placed on my phone. I just now found out that when I use the same screen name on my computer, I get charged 5 cents for each message on my phone. I followed many of the links provided regarding this topic on this site to disable the IM Forwarding option, but everytime I go into the AOL site to disable the option and type in my screen name, my cell phone number doesn’t even appear in the box and I don’t even have the IM Forwarding option set up. So if I don’t seem to have it set up, how in the hell am I being charged?? Also, I’ve signed on from other computers under different screen names to see if when I sign off on my computer if my screen name is still signed on with a phone next to it, and it isn’t. ALSO, I’ve never received any AIM text messages on my phone. Can anyone PLEASE tell me what the hell is going on and how to fix this bull****. Also (last also, promise) I’ve created another screen name and I’ve blocked everyone on my old buddy list, does anyone think that I’ll still somehow be receiving non-existent messages and continue to be charged?? PLEASE, anyone, PLEASE help me!!!!! Thank you. (oh, I use AIM and you can email me at prettyangel_123@hotmail.com)
