Hi friends,
I got my G5 iMac today morning and since then I have been exploring each and every corner of it.
I have few issues:a) I tried to install yahoo messenger for mac and aim for mac but after downloading the .bin files from their websites, my imac asked for a expander. So I went to the website and downloaded StuffIt expander. After installing StuffitExpander for imac, whenever I try to open the application, it crashes saying “The application stuffit expander quite unexpectedly.” and then it tries to generate report and all. I tried uninstalling and re-installing StuffItexpander again, but it doesn’t work. As a result, I can’t install AIM or Yahoo for iMac.
b) I bought this computer because my laptop died due to power surge and its battery is exhausted. Even if the hard drive and memory are working perfectly, there is no way to power-up the laptop, without AC current or the battery. I have like 30 GB of music in the laptop. I also have an iPod shuffle which has like 100 songs. I wanted to transfer all the music from iPod shuffle to this iMac. But with my laptop being powerless, i dont know any particular way how to transfer these songs on my iPod shuffle to the iMac without using the laptop.
So if any of you have any idea how to tackle these issues, please let me know. Thanks a lot.

Before downloading or even knowing about this stuffitexpander, I went to Yahoo messenger’s website, and tried to download the Yahoo messenger for Mac OS X. So, a file with .bin extension was downloaded. When I tried to open it, it asked for something like expander. Then I downloaded StuffItExpander, following the proper steps and directions. But everytime I try to open the application from the Applications folder, it opens for a second and then just crashes without any apparent reason.
EDIT: Problem 1 solved. Solved it myself.
