Re-format WIndows XP?

How do I do this? I have windows XP. My computer is messed. I am on my other computer right now since my XP has too many bugs. Please help!

you can rollback your installation of windows XP at add/remove programs from your control panel.. that way you can return to your previous O.S.

Ok, I opened up Add/Remove Programs, but where should I click to be able to do so?

That is only if you upgraded form Windows 98/2000. I would not recommend doing that even if you did.

If you are sure you want to lose EVERYTHING on your computer, insert your Windows XP CD into your drive and turn on your computer. Press a key when you see “Press any key to boot from CD… .” Windows setup is self-explanatory, but only do this if you are sure you have all your driver CD’s and you can lose everything you have.

I dont have the windows XP CD, is there any other way?

I am sure I want to get rid of everything. I burnt to disk what I want to keep!

Re-format your hard-drive? I heard that somewhere, don’t try it until someone can correct me.

You need a CD, that’s all there is to it. UNLESS you have a special type of OEM, there are a few companies (IBM Thinkpads are one) that allow you to re-install without a CD, contact your computer manufacturer? Otherwise try System-Restore maybe?

You wouldn’t want to just re-format (erase the drive) in this case, because then you would not have an OS to use. When you re-install Windows XP, you usually select the option to “Format the drive” during setup.

If you don’t have XP then you probably have a brand computer. Most brand computers come with a factory-restore disk. If you have that, use it. If not, do what Dave said and go to Start > All Programs >> Accessories >>> System Tools >>>> System Restore and “restore your computer to an earlier time.”
