March 11, 2008 at 8:44 am #168105PhilipModeratorHmm, a good film to watch? If you could tell us what categories you like (for example, action, drama, comedy, etc.) I’d probably be able to throw some recommendations your way.
March 11, 2008 at 12:07 pm #168094TigerbladeParticipantWhat you may also want to do is get an account at Amazon.com, rate as many movies as you can, and then check to see what they recommend for you. Their system tends to come up with some pretty good recommendations based on the data you’ve given them.
The same goes for Netflix, or any other movie rental service. Or you could stroll through your local Blockbuster or other movie store, and just grab something off the shelf that catches your eye.

March 12, 2008 at 12:56 am #168106PhilipModeratorThe nice thing about watching the LOTR Trilogy on DVD is that you can take a break anytime. Each movie is long (close to 3 hours) so that’s what I did, watched them all on DVD. Wonderful!
The Bourne Trilogy is another set I can recommend, if you’re an action fan. This consists of The Bourne Identity, The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum. Watch them back to back, if action’s your thing!
March 12, 2008 at 2:17 am #168104MrOatsMemberI recommend Kill Bill Vol. 1, then Kill Bill Vol. 2 😉

June 9, 2008 at 6:48 pm #168098sarahtownyMemberAnyone seen The Happening? I like most of the work done by M Night Shyamalan.
If you have is it worth paying to see it at the cinema, or just one to wait to see on DVD?
June 9, 2008 at 8:20 pm #168102StigmataMemberOffice Space, Donnie Darko, Matrix Trilogy, Bourne Trilogy, Men in Black, Oceans 11..
Really have no idea what kinda thing you fancy? 😛
June 9, 2008 at 10:19 pm #168096AwesomeSauceParticipantWhat about some older ones? I’m personally a fan of classic horror movies. I’d go as far as to say that The Exorcist is probably the apex of modern horror. There’s a lot to choose from, though. If it’s directed by Stanley Kubrick then you know it’s probably good. Same with Alfred Hitchcock.
June 9, 2008 at 10:45 pm #168095TigerbladeParticipantSarah – The Happening hasn’t been released in the states yet. It comes out this Friday. Though I’ll be in the theatre for The Incredible Hulk – Shyamalan will have to wait until later.
June 10, 2008 at 12:40 am #168107Doris KenneyParticipantLet me start this with a public service announcement (thus I may have a clear conscience to continue.)
Sources broadcasting streaming movies on the internet may or may not be doing so legally. However, watching streaming video is legal. Saving or recording the stream is not legal.Public service announcement is done. Now I can get on with it.
Take a gander at OVGuide. It has links to all kinds of streaming shows/movies – NOT downloads. Pretty much anything you might want that’s been out for even a day is there. For new theatre type releases the quality may or may not be so good, but even if not, you may be able to make a better decision about paying theatre prices to go see it. Streaming movies are generally shown in 3-4 sections due to the size so even if you don’t have time to watch the whole thing it makes it easy to come back later and finish watching.
They actually check out the sites they list and make sure they don’t have lots of broken links etc. You can search by all kinds of criteria and can save favorite playlists. I’m really impressed with this site! OVGuide is NOT broadcasting the video, they are simply providing a “search engine” of sorts to more easily find a site that has what you’re looking for.
Hope someone finds a bit of enjoyment from it!

Hey Sarah, I just got home from watching this. I’m not one to recommend movies simply because we may have different tastes and what I like – you may not, but I did enjoy this one. Aside the chaos going on in the movie it has some comedy thrown in there which made it a well-rounded movie to watch.
I won’t ruin the movie by saying any details but it was different than I expected but in a good way that even my friend said “Wow, I liked it – I didn’t think I would.”
So there you go! Sorry I can’t give you a better review without actually going into details about what the movie is about!
