hello everyone i don’t know where to start.actually i have a western digital hard disk attached with usb while copying some data my computer hanged so i just pull out the usb cable and restart the computer.when again attaching the hard disk it shows no memory from this i got to know that its file system structure has been destroyed so i format it with partition magic and at the end it gives me an I/O error. Then i start the program getdataback to recover the data while scaning the drive it show that there is bad sector in it. i just continue it but the program does not respond so i have to close it.so now the problem is that what to do? repair the bad sectors of the drive first or recover the data.if i repair the drive first can i able to recover the data back.
please help me out…………..
January 28, 2009 at 12:26 pm #171805Jeff HesterKeymasterIts a very small problem. Just repair the Bad sectors of the hard drive first. Maybe u’ll not need the data recovery software after doing this. I assume that the problem is there because you plugged out the memory stick without “Ejecting” it properly. I have faced the same problem for a lot of times in the past & it works fine for me after repairing the bad sectors hard drive. 🙂

i’d recommend using CONVAR & PCinspector Data Recovery Datenrettung recupero dati datarecovery récupération données from another harddrive. That is if XP (your os) can see the drive once its connected. If XP cannot see the drive i don’t know what to tell you.

It happens at times that we knowingly delete some files permanently and later realize that they were important. It is possible to recover such files easily by using third party software of Windows disk recovery.so you can use Recoveryfix for window data recovery software for recover your all type of data from your pc disk.

best buy credit cardsOctober 18, 2012 at 7:32 pm #171813OzoneMemberIt’s been 4 years, hopefully he fixed the problem. My landlord had the same problem, tried to format his PC to Linux with the external WD drive still connected… He wanted to just reformat and start again, but had lots of priceless pictures stored on the thing. I got him Western Digital’s Data Lifeguard Tools to make sure he still had the data, but to save them he had to pay WD $100 for the licensed version.
