Should I buy a refurbished mp3 player or not?
What are the advantages/disadvantages.
It is a Dell DJ-20.
Is http://www.tigerdirect.com a dependable site?

ouch.. well. sometimes there’s not really any major problems with refurbished units. However, I recently bought my refurbished laptop from tigerdirect.com, and I am already having problems with the LCD and cdrom and stuff, only 4 months later. Although tigerdirect is a very dependable site, i’d say pass on refurbished things and save a little extra to buy new. It’s simply not worth the headache in the long run.
Advantage:
-refurbished units are cheaperDisadvantage:
-who knows when they will start acting up…. could be a month from when you buy it…… could be 5 years!
-no matter what, refurbished isnt as good as new
-usually you don’t get warranties with refurbished units (not sure if you usually do with the MP3 players or not)
-consider it “used”…. but “fixed”Hope this helps you in your decision.
