MemberHi, was just wondering what program to use to remove my name from someone else’s buddy list.

ParticipantI never heard of any program for that and in case it exists nobody can tell you on this forum because it’s HACKING.

Participanthello, spicy1201… welcome to bbb. have you tried simply asking the person to remove you from their list? i realize there are occasionally situations where that’s not feasible or likely, but you could try…

MemberThere’s programs to do it….and it’s not hacking lol…you log in YOUR ID…noone elses. I know it used to be fairly easy to do (even through Yahoo! pages) but they redid something a while ago, yet I saw a couple more programs for that come out. I am not sure if it still works –

This application will allow you to remove your yahoo id from someone elses buddy list. Quick and effective…unlike most of the other ones out there.
Simply login to the name you need to remove and then enter the persons id that you need to remove your name from and then remove it.”Get it here http://elitenick.com/pafiledb/pafiledb.php?action=file&id=28
It should since it’s using the YMSG12 protocol
*update* found an update for it, uses the new login dll, “Y!Login.dll” instead of YMSG12 🙂

ParticipantYes Nick, it sure does the job but the problem is it opens a window on the other party side to say that you don’t want to have your ID in his buddy list and he has the option to keep your ID or remove it from the Y!m address book. In this case the program doesn’t cross the HACKING threshold. Very clever.

ParticipantThat’s why I found the way DenyBud gets the job done is very clever, it sends a command to Y!m server telling it what you want to do with your ID, it’s NOT hacking. But if you send packets containing some script to the other pc and modify the list on that pc it’s hacking.
If the purpose is to stop receiving IM from somebody, the simple way is deleting his ID in your list and add it to the Ignore List.

ParticipantYahoo! however only allow you to have 99 people on your ignore list.
This can get done very eaily these days and yahoo need to expand that.
As for denying buddy, your just using a packet that would have been sent if you click no instead of yes.

Memberwhy do you want your name off their list?
what sense does it make to remove your name off THEIR list? can’t you just block the person you don’t want contacting you and leave it at that? if you sign on at any point you’ll be invisible to them, and if they try and IM you, it won’t reach you coz you blocked them. or does it work differently for you?August 1, 2005 at 4:04 pm #126690Dan.W
MemberYou could use Stealth Settings so they cannot see you online, best I can think of.
August 2, 2005 at 6:42 am #126687Dermot
ParticipantBecause you have the right to privacy.
It is an option given to you by Yahoo! only once.
its all about choice really
you can stealth them…unbud them…remove them…etc
Whether to which your most comfortable with is your own personal choice.

MemberI have some advice for people and i hope you really take this into consideration.
A really good reason why an individual wouldnt want to be on an individuals friend list is simply because if they messege an individual that might want to harm them or “Hack” them then the individual could easily get their ip and get there information through that or “Hack” them.
My best advice is only allow people you trust to add you to their friend list and please be carefull online.
