Hi all I am new here and hope I have posted in the right category. I am needing to know how to remove yahoo messenger exployer bar in my add and remove program..I have tried and tried to get rid of it but it won’t go away. I have Windows XP…have tried restore and it is still there.
Thanks for any help given….Misty:pFebruary 1, 2009 at 8:41 pm #172944Doris KenneyParticipantHello and welcome to BBB! I have never had a case where using add/remove programs did not appropriately remove the Yahoo Toolbar from Internet Explorer.
I would suggest downloading the free program RevoUninstaller and trying it for the uninstall. If by some chance some files were removed that are necessary to remove the program and you had a failed uninstall at some point, the program can show in add/remove but be stuck in limbo. With RevoUninstaller you can choose to do a “Forced Uninstall” which will remove the program even if it fails to do wo with the program’s own built in uninstaller.
Please let me know if that takes care of the problem for you.

I generally use it for all my uninstalls so I can keep my machine as free of extra files and folders as possible. It does a great job with extra registry entries as well as leftovers.
The only time I’ve had to be careful is when removing a multi-client IM program as it will sometimes find references in the supported IM’s as well. Other than than I use the deepest clean for most items.
No program can automate finding everything, but RevoUninstaller does a darn good job of most of it!
I”m glad you found BBB! Have a look around and take time to introduce yourself if you like in our Introductions area!
