I have to say I have been very taken aback by the amount of rep points people have given me recently. You crazy people you :p but I understand the complete and utter love for miss sezzie hehe
Seriously though, I cannot thank them, or be just interested who has, because some of them have not said who they are…
Can you change this part of BBB, so you know who has given you a rep?
September 20, 2007 at 8:13 pm #164351sarahtownyMemberThank you Mr David for giving me a rep for posting this, very funny!!
:0)
Loves you to sunshine!
*sarah giggles*September 20, 2007 at 9:50 pm #164346Jeff HesterKeymasterI think it’s a good idea, Sarah. I’ll look into it.
September 21, 2007 at 12:20 am #164358Leapy LeoMemberYou can’t always tell but a look at the post I have been commended for usually gives me a good idea who is doing the recommending.
September 21, 2007 at 2:20 am #164350TigerbladeParticipanti thought that was part of the point… was to not specifically state who gave the rep. if you want it to be known, you can add your name or initials or some other clue to the message you give.
at least that’s how i roll.

But I am curious about who gave me what sometimes.

September 21, 2007 at 5:18 pm #164347Jeff HesterKeymasterGood points… some people might want to remain anonymous. Should we start a poll to decide?
September 22, 2007 at 1:53 am #164353MrOatsMemberI agree with what Tom said.
I think members should have their “right to privacy” but free will as to if they want to be known or not for leaving rep.
September 22, 2007 at 3:31 pm #164349detn8rParticipantIf it were possible, I think it would be a good idea to have it as a profile option, weather or not you wish to remain anonymous or have your user name shown.
September 22, 2007 at 4:29 pm #164356PolarBearNPRParticipantSeems like we’re coming to a consensus. The option to let folks know you’ve added to their reputation might be a good repping message option. Usually I do want folks to know I’ve repped them (and I sign it), but sometimes I don’t. And if it were a profile option it would always be “on” or “off.” I’d prefer to make the choice on a case by case basis. Of course it’s only the newest rep givers (or getters) who realize that there’s no name automatically associated with the comment. Perhaps on that rep screen, just a note that it will be annonymous unless you sign it would take care of the personal preference.
September 22, 2007 at 9:19 pm #164348Jeff HesterKeymasterI’m always in favor of doing less customization, becuase it makes forum upgrades easier in the future. In this case, maybe the best solution would be to simply add some text to the rep box that pops up that says something like “If you would like this member to know who gave them rep, please include your member name in the message.”
That’s a really easy change to make using the forum’s language files, and it doesn’t impact future upgrades at all.
It also let’s people know that if they WANT to say who gave the rep, they’ll need to include their name in the message.
September 23, 2007 at 11:51 am #164357PolarBearNPRParticipantExactly my thoughts, but expressed more clearly.
Seems like when I’m back at school and working with the lil kids and their language deficiencies . . . it has a bit of a carry-over effect.
September 24, 2007 at 8:38 pm #164352sarahtownyMemberSounds perfect to me Jeff. Aww Polar you expressed yourself perfectly if I might say. I bet you do a great job, you must get a great deal of satisfaction doing something like that. Fantastic :0)

And they are just so darn cute!
