MemberI am going to stop using/delete a hotmail/messenger account, but want to know what is going to happen to my contacts list and me being contact on other people’s messenger, if someone reuses my old hotmail account and then uses it for messenger. Will the reused address appear as on-line to my old contacts??

MemberIn the past your old .NET passport would be given to the new owner of your old adress. At present I’m not sure if this bug is fixed or not, but also in the past you could close your account, wait a month or so, and then reopen it and the account was still in tact and fine. I’ve also gotten a friend to register my old .NET passport after I had closed it for a month and he had acquired my MSN Messenger contact list. Which was a huge security risk for me, as I had a lot of top-level MSN Messenger community individuals. Mostly Mess.be Admin emails which in turn caused my friend to add one of the emails and spoke to a Mess.Be Admin (won’t say who…) which in turn got me into trouble with that Admin…
To make a long story short. In the past there were bugs. At present I’m not sure if the bug has been fixed or not…luckily my friend was nice enough to give my my account back and since then I haven’t closed any of my accounts. Of if I do I clear the list completely.
As for your last question, in the past it did. Once again I’m not sure if it will or will not now.

MemberThanks for advice. Basically then the contact lists will remain if someone takes over the account – is that right? When you say “Or if I do I clear the list completely.” How would you go about doing that? If I block all the contacts in the list before I leave the old .NET passport account will that change anything?

MemberLike I said, I don’t know if my past case is the same as what will happen now, in the present.
