MemberA while back I saw something on how to ring a telephone using a computer, but the web site was deleted before I ever got to try this, I wanted to do it to one of my friends. Could someone please tell me how do this, I don’t want to make an autimated recording play after hey picks it up, I just want the phone to ring.

KeymasterUmmm… you just want to make the phone ring? Or you want to actually speak with them after they answer?
As for the former, that’s just a crank call. Not very nice at all.
As for the latter, you can do this with many, many different applications, including MSN Messenger (assuming of course, that you have headphones or speakers and a microphone on your computer). There is a phone dialer that will let you place phone calls from your computer. When the person answers, you talk to them through your microphone. It can be very cost effective, but I’ve found the quality is sometimes spotty. Also, this service is not available in all parts of the world.
