MemberHi Guys,
Recently some Attention Deficit individual is locking a chatroom me and some friends hang at. not exactly sure what he does, but what happens is that even though there are only a few people in the room, lets say 3 or 10. When people try to join via the room list, they get the message “This room is full. Please try another room.” The only way people can join is by /join roomname and /goto snofsomeoneintheroom . Any ideas on how to prevent this?
THANKS!Ho0ke

MemberIs this the official ADD chatroom? Or is this a room that some one else has started? You need to be more specific as to when it is happening and if it is an official room or not. Also, have you done anything in this room that would make some one ban you?

Membersorry, this is user room someone has started. its not me getting banned, the room somehow gets locked, the only way in the room is via the /join command or the /goto command. when i mean locked, when users try to go in via the room list.. and clicking on the room, they get a “this room is full..” even if there is only 3 or 4 or 5 people in the room.
also sorry , when i said Attention Deficit individual i meant, some lamer. hehe. so anyways. what i think happens is when this lamer floods the room, the yahoo chat servers get desynched thinking the room is full.. thats why people cant join. it fixes itself after a while..February 24, 2005 at 2:23 pm #115317Oreo
MemberFirst of all, you SHOULD be sorry about the Attention Deficit comment. Just because it is over diagnosed does not mean that people do not have it and that it is not serious. People with ADD are not lamers. I’d suggest you do not slur people like that again and thank you for apologizing.
If this person is such a moron and your friends and you want a place to chat; simply start your own room and make it invite only. Then this guy will not be able to flood you because he will not be allowed to come into the room. He’ll eventually get sick of trying to get into your room and leave you alone.February 25, 2005 at 4:18 am #115322Ho0ke
MemberWe kinda want the room to be a public room. so far what we are doing is ignoring him. but it doesnt solve the room being locked issue. Im going to capture the packets he sends in the room later if he does it again and try to recreate it. Then send it to yahoo. Anybody else have advice/suggestion/comments?
thanks
